This is a monthly employee spotlight series, where we highlight the experiences of our team members during the holy month of Ramadan. This week, we speak with Yarra Kira Adalia, Social Media & Marketing Executive, about her journey of balancing professional responsibilities with spiritual devotion.

Meeting Yarra
With one and a half years at our company and over 3 years in the marketing field, Yarra Adalia has established herself as a key team member behind some of our most creative marketing pieces. During Ramadan, her routine shifts significantly, yet her commitment to excellence remains unwavering.
“Ramadan isn’t just about fasting from food and drink,” Yarra explains. “It’s a time for spiritual reflection, increased devotion, and strengthening community bonds. The challenge is maintaining this while still delivering on professional responsibilities.”
A Day in Ramadan Life
Yarra’s day during Ramadan starts well before dawn for suhoor (pre-fast meal). “I wake up around 3:30 AM, prepare and eat suhoor, perform Fajr prayer, and then often use this quiet early morning time for contemplation. But sometimes I just skip the sahoor part as I am too exhausted.”
Rather than seeing fasting as an obstacle, Yarra has developed strategies that help her leverage the unique rhythm of Ramadan:
“I front-load team meetings and collaborative work in the morning when my energy is the highest. Content creation for mid-day when it’s a lot peaceful. In the afternoon, when energy typically dips, I either schedule content for later or read and catch up with the latest trends.”
FYI, Yarra is an introverted kind of person so she finds this Ramadan moment as precious as everyone doesn’t talk that much compared to usual days.
“I find it calming and peaceful. I don’t have to talk as much as I usually do because everyone is simply reserving their energy. But sometimes, it gets too silent and it creeps me, hahaha!”
Community at Work
One aspect Yarra particularly values is how our company fosters an inclusive environment during Ramadan.
“Management has been wonderfully accommodating. Team iftars (breaking fast together), flexible scheduling, and understanding from non-Muslim colleagues all make a tremendous difference. It shows that respecting cultural and religious practices isn’t just a policy on paper—it’s lived daily in our workplace culture.”
Insights from Fasting
The discipline of Ramadan has unexpected professional benefits, according to Yarra.
“Fasting teaches patience and resilience—qualities that directly translate to challenging projects. There’s a heightened focus that comes with Ramadan that I’ve learned to channel into my work. And the heightened empathy from this month makes me more attuned to the contents I create every day.
Looking Forward
As Ramadan progresses, Yarra is mindful of maintaining energy levels for the whole fasting period, considered the most spiritually significant of the month.
“It’s about sustainable pacing. Our industry doesn’t stop, but Ramadan teaches us to be intentional about where we direct our energy. This balance is something I carry forward throughout the year.”
